A Boy, A Man, A Wrestler......

Ahh... The winter sport has began. Jimmy started wrestling in January and had his first meet on Thursday. He had three opponents. Unfortunately the second one was a girl. I opposed this, I said, " Forfiet and make a statement that girls do not belong wrestling boys." " If they want to wrestle they need to wrestle other girls." I was out voted and the match began. He kicked her butt! He is extermely stronger than her, and was flipping her all around. He beat her 13-1. The other two matches he held his own, but he did lose, 4-2 and 6-1.
Waiting his turn.

" Let's do this"

" This is not what I had in mind."

"You're a girl!" " I will annihilate you."

....and that's a pin.

It is a strange feeling to cheer when your son is wrestling. It sounds a lot like this, " Gett'em Jimmy. Come on push with your legs. Pound 'em. You got this, head and arm. "
As you know Grace was in gymnastics, she quit, but we all knew she would. Trying to get her into volleyball. But they don't have it in the winter. She doesn't want to ski, she doesn't want to do softball. Thank the Lord she doesn't want to wrestle.
Guess, she'll just be a fan.
Just an update from Tuesday's meet. Lost the first match, won the second one with a pin in under 20 seconds, won the third with a pin within the first minute. WAY TO GO JIMMY!!!

A day at Wanoga Park

Okay so my New Year's resolution is be a better blogger. So we went sledding today and I took the camera! It wasn't very crowded and the weather was pretty nice. There was a learning curve though. Lesson one: Bring your gloves! You can't sled without them, atleast not without freezing your hands. Lesson two: Bring lunch. Lesson three: Bring a chair. So we are going to try it again tomorrow after church. This time we will be well prepared. Hopefully the weather will cooperate again with us.

I am still recoving from surgery, so I just watched.

Grace and Derek coming down the hill.
She was covered in snow, and not to happy. But not too sad.

And then it was Jimmy's turn.

Gotta use your feet to stop. Would be nicer with gloves. Poor hands.

Now they have realized they could go together!

Here they come!

Oh no they wiped out~
"Get up Grace. Let's go again."

"No way I'm done."

So we headed into town to get some lunch at Bend's favorite hot spot, " Pizza Mondo".

So we headed home, took a nap, published a blog post and called it a day.
If you want to get away for the week-end let me know, I'll change the sheets on the bed.
See ya!

Where does the time go?

So here it is 2009 and I am so far behind on my blog. You girls are so great about it, really puts me to shame. Not to mention I haven't taken enough pictures to post for the holidays and what not. So I'll just have to piece this post together. Not really sure where to start. I guess I will start with now and work backwards. I am recovering from my hysterectomy, which was a Christmas gift from my OB. Yes, I had surgery on Christmas Eve. But I did get to stay in FBC to recover so that was pretty special. Had some really great nurses who made sure that I never hurt or threw-up which are two very important things. New Years of course was uneventful. High on percocet was about it. Derek suggested Grace beat a pan at midnight and then got irritated when she did. He was tired by midnight. Me, I was still numb from the meds. We celebrated Christmas on the 23rd, which was actually good. The lines were non existent for returns. I think we may do it again next year. hehe. We drove down to Medford for Thanksgiving. Stayed in a hotel, that seems to be a better idea than crowding Derek's mom and dad's house now that Sarah has gotten married. Unfortunately I did not get to watch the Macy's Day Parade, which is something I really enjoy. But o'well. That is really all that is going on here. Derek and Jimmy have gone skiing a couple times. I guess the snow on the mountain is great. I saw that Coutiers went sledding. I think they went to Sun River, but hmm, they didn't call.

So here are some pictures that I have showing all this great fun....

Grace's note to Santa... she's crazy.
Electronics for everyone.
My tree post christmas
It's time to take in the patio furniture.
If you don't have friends, make two. Out of PACU. It was a tough 1st day. But I survived w/o pneaumonia

And the tests go on....

Okay, so it has been a week and still no diagnosis, just more tests, well atleast for my heart. I have adenomyosis, which is where the endometrium grows into the myometrium instead of shedding. Which is 100 % curable with either menopause or a hyster. I am opting for a hyster being that I have another good 12-14 years until menopause. The only speedbump is my heart. I had an echo and a nuclear stress test on Tuesday, and of course no word as to how that looked. My cardiologist is concerned about these little wavy lines on my EKG, which I had instead of the echo last week. Blah blah blah..... enough of that. Obvisiously I am not going to die, so let's just look at halloween pics and talk about something fun.

Gracen and her two friends at school. Of course Grace is Dorothy from the wizard of Oz.

Grace and Mrs. Stoaks, her teacher. This was a really fun day!

Grace with more of her friends.

Grace has also started gynastics. Which she just loves. She has been practicing her cart wheels from the front door to the back door, over and over again. She is so funny. She creates her on floor music and designs a floor routine and then does it all night long trying to perfect it. And of course makes us watch. After about the first 15 or so minutes I feel like I am losing my mind!

My little buttercup! She looks kinda mad, but she isn't. 'Cause it's time to do cartwheels!

"Are you watching mom?"

Jimmy of course is still just Jimmy. Football is finally over! Hurray! He did an amazing job. He is really growing and figuring out who he is. I am really proud of him. Some days I just shake my head at him, but most days I look at him in awe. Of course he still doesn't let me take pictures of him, but he doest take some of himself so that is what I am going to post.

Hello handsome! What a cutie!

These are a serious of pix he took of himself, I am not sure why. Strange.

It must be hard to be 12 about to be 13. But he is a good looking kid! I gotta admit it.

Well thank you for your warm thoughts and prayers. I am feeling better most of the time. Atleast I am not worring anymore.

I think you all should drive up and bring your babies so I can hold them! Remeber if you want to get away, my door is always open.

Love,

Seree

Just so you know

I have been sick, so I have not had time to keep up on my blog. My uterus is 2in above my umbilicus and putting pressure on my heart. I see a cardiologist on Thursday to go over my echo and my xray. They just detected a new heart murmur , a grade II, whatever that means. All the tests and doctor appointments have kept me busy as well as worried. I am trying to stay positive, but everyday there seems to be another follow-up test. So please just keep me in your prayers. I have pics of Grace from halloween, it just hasn't been a priority yet.

Take care.

Just keep on keepin' on

Wow.... how time just keeps ticking away. It is already almost the end of October. Jimmy only has 2 more games in the season. He did so awesome last week. Scored twice on a 2 point conversion, plus he ran the ball a couple of times for a total of 8 yards and sacked the quarterback once. Way to go Jimmy!! Grace is just hanging out. She says she wants to do gymnastics again, but I am not sure if she will stick to it. I just gave away her cheer uniform that she had to have, but only attended one event. So, I will need to think about this one. Work is just work. Everyone is healthy and back to work, so I have slowed down a little. Of course what I mean by that is that I don't have overtime this week. I am sure there will be work for me, I just have to have faith.

Winter is coming, and even though some nights are in the teens, winter is not here. I am getting a little more worried about living here. I know I just need to buy warm clothes, I'll be fine. Atleast the sun is shinning.

Natasha came to visit last weekend. Thank you Natasha!

We really had a nice time. The girls are getting so big. It is fun to listen to Alex talk, she is so expressive. We really didn't do anything except eat, it seemed like. It was really cold and I had just came off working and had to go back to work the day they left. I guess I wasn't a very good hostess. Give me another chance Natasha, I'll do better.

The kids really enjoyed hanging out. Jimmy says he is looking forward to being a dad. I say, "Woe there tiger, lets get through 7th grade first." But he really is good with little kids.

He carried Madison anywhere she wanted to go. Too bad he doesnt treat his own sister like that. All I can do is pray, some days are better than others, and of course Grace doesn't look up to Jimmy like Madison does.

So, that is about all that is going on here. Bend is beautiful, call if you need a place to stay!

A wedding...

Well, we just got back from Medford, what a wonderful wedding! Both kids were in the wedding and boy did they both look beautiful. Sarah, Derek's younger sister was the bride. She got married at the Box R Ranch in Green Springs, OR. She married Ryan Strickler from Applegate. He seems to be nice enough, although his groomsmen were a little odd. As a joke they covered the engine with lynburger cheese. It smelled like raw sewege. And to think they had to drive up to Portland smelling that the whole way. Needless to say, they were not happy.

Gracen was a Jr. brides maid. She was terrific! She was beautiful!

Me and Jimmy before the wedding. Isn't he so handsome.

The bride and my kiddos.

Gracen posing for her mamma.

Jimmy escorting his beautiful grandmother. He felt so dapper in his suit.

Me at the reception. We later square danced. Believe it or not, that was a lot of fun!
The four of us and the John Deer. It really was a wonderful wedding. Sarah we wish you the best!
